Rally for Kids With Cancer – New Friends |

Qualities of a good teammate « anewert1s

There are many things in the game of softball that contribute to a team's success. A lot of those things do not occur on the field. Many times the most important factor in a team is chemistry. It is not always the most talented team that wins, but the team that plays the best together.

In order for a team to have chemistry and succeed as a collective unit, each member must be a good teammate. This can be done in countless ways and below are just a few behaviors that will help an athlete become a better teammate and, as a result, help lead the team to success.

1. Cheer
Cheering is first on the list. Some athletes seem to think that they are "too cool" to cheer during games. This, however, should never be the case. You win and lose as a team; it only makes sense that everyone celebrates each other's success. Cheering can bring a team together and it can intimidate an opposing team. There is no excuse for a quiet dugout. A good teammate always cheers for their fellow athletes.

2. Be a good example
On a team it is important to have players that demonstrate what it means to be a great softball player and a great teammate. This does not necessarily mean action on the field. A good teammate shows the other athletes how to work hard, cheer, and be respectful. Attitude can be contagious and that goes for positive and negative attitudes. A teammate with a positive attitude can infect the whole team and create an atmosphere that promotes success.

3. Respect
A good teammate respects their fellow athletes. Softball players spend so much time with their teammates that they can become like a family. That means they are very close knit and comfortable with each other, but it can also mean bickering and gossiping. It is important to always respect your teammates and never say or do anything you would regret. That is your family and any time you do or say something that is not in the best interest of the team, you are taking a step backward from your goals. Although you can't be best friends with everyone you can respect them.

4. Have each other's backs
Always support and believe in your fellow teammates. If you believe in them, it is easier for them to believe in themselves. Sometimes when things get hard, maybe a player is in a slump, it is important that she have her teammates support. This goes back to the concept of the team as a family. Families help each other through tough times and support each other through thick and thin. It is easier to overcome hard times when there is support from the team. In the end, each individual will be stronger with her family behind them, and therefore the team itself will be tougher. Teams lose and win together, and they should go through it all knowing that they have each other's backs.

5. Take responsibility
When things get hard it is easy to blame mistakes on other people. To be a good teammate you have to take responsibility for yourself. It is a team sport; no win or loss can be contributed to one person. This also means that every team member needs to know her role on the team and take ownership over that role and be responsible for it. If you are a pinch runner, make sure you are warm and ready to go in every inning. If you are injured, cheer constantly and support the team. Be responsible for your role on the team. If everyone really takes ownership of their role within the team and does their job then success will follow.

A Little Frustrated « A Leaner Me

I can tell I'm winding down the process again and able to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Why? Because I'm antsy to be in the kitchen cooking and/or baking. I have another list of recipes I'm anxious to cook (some more healthy than others, of course). The first recipe is for brown rice with black beans and cilantro… mmm. Doesn't that just sound so tasty? Mexican food is high on my list. I'd eat the rice as a side dish to Mom's Enchiladas. I've had a bit of a craving for those for a few weeks now, but I've been a really good girl and haven't had any. I'm also tasting Jackie's Crack Pork.

Basically, I'm just in the mood to putter around the kitchen. But I can't. At least not for another few weeks. Grrr. To add insult to injury, I went to a warehouse sale for a kitchen/cooking store this morning. Granted I got some good deals (a silicone baking mat for $15.00 (regularly $30.00), three rubber spatulas for $1.00 each (you know those suckers cost between $10.00 and $20.00 each), and an OXO Mandoline Slicer for $25.00 (because it had been returned–like I care… I wash everything before using it anyway)). Then I came home and read for a while and watched a little television.

I should've gone into the office today, but my make up time from my doctor's appointment on Wednesday would've been hijacked as everyone was ordered onto the phones for the weekend. No thanks. If I'm going in on a Saturday it will not involve being on the phone! I get enough of that five days a week!

Oh, I also spent a little bit of time surfing the internet trying to figure out which of the National Parks in Colorado (that I've not already visited) could be done in a day trip on a Saturday now that the weather is warming up (sort of, it was in the 40s today). I kind of like taking field trips every now and again… with my camera and National Parks Passport. Oh yes, I'm absolutely this nerdy. Julie, Ethan, and Adri got me the deluxe edition for my birthday after our joint trip to Washington, D.C. and I still have the old one from when we were growing up. I still put the cancellation stamps in them, verifying when I was there. It's dorky, but fun! And I still get a kick out of it at my age. And yes, if I hit a park this year, I will buy the 2011 Passport Stamp Set, a.k.a. stickers (I only get them when I travel).

I even got my bestest friend hooked on it after we traveled all the way from Orange County, California to Vancouver, British Columbia and back in a car quite a few years ago. I got stamps for a lot of stuff on that trip… Olympic National Park, Mt. Saint Helens National Volcanic Monument (fascinating!), Redwood National Park, Golden Gate National Recreation Area, and Presidio of San Francisco. She and I visited the latter two on another trip as well. And yes, I have stamps in my passport for all of them along with a multitude of other parks, monuments, historic sites, and recreation areas across this country. Anyway, there are a couple of things within driving distance that I can go visit with warmer weather. So, why not? It would be nice to have a wingman for the adventures, though. We'll see who I can persuade to come with me. I'll keep ya'll posted on that one.

I will get to see Rocky Mountain National Park for the umpteenth time when my cousin, his wife, and their kids are out in July. His parents and my sister are also planning to come into town at the same time. Looks like that'll be a day trip because he wants to go see what there is to see up there. It's quite beautiful and should be a nice drive. And though the tentative plan is scheduled for the second week of July, there could still be snow up there… fun! And before you think to yourself that we're all crazy, the park is a two-hour drive from Denver International Airport (assuming one obeys the traffic laws). That means it's about 2.5 hours from my house. Totally doable in a day.

Compañeras y compañeros:

Nos honra que acá se reúna el Comité Ejecutivo del Consejo Mundial por la Paz, institución  que brega por la convivencia armoniosa entre las naciones y el respeto a los derechos de los pueblos, y lo ha hecho siempre sin vacilar desde su fundación cuando se iniciaba la llamada Guerra Fría.

Fueron constantes sus luchas para evitar el enfrentamiento militar entre los dos bloques en que entonces se dividía el mundo. Esa guerra nunca estalló aunque sí se repitieron las agresiones imperiales contra pueblos que buscaban liberarse de la dominación colonial. En aquellos tiempos se prometía que al superarse la guerra fría se habría de alcanzar el desarme general y completo y los cuantiosos recursos así liberados servirían para financiar el desarrollo de los países del tercer Mundo. No se alcanzó ni lo uno ni lo otro.

Terminó la guerra fría pero se intensifica la carrera armamentista, ya no existe el Tratado de Varsovia, pero la OTAN aumenta su membresía y extiende su acción belicista fuera de su ámbito original, primero invadiendo a Afganistán y ahora bombardeando y masacrando en Libia a una población que dice cínicamente proteger. Se hace más honda la brecha que separa a ricos y pobres y ya casi nadie recuerda las viejas promesas de cooperación internacional para el desarrollo. Son cada vez más evidentes los signos de la crisis del medio ambiente que amenaza con acabar con la especie humana y el hambre golpea a centenares de millones en todo el planeta.

Vienen ustedes a La Habana poco después de concluido el VI Congreso del Partido Comunista de Cuba que movilizó a toda la sociedad para examinar nuestros problemas principales y aprobar los cambios indispensables en nuestro proyecto económico y social. Fue un Congreso del que salió fortalecida la unidad patriótica de la nación. Todas y todos nos empeñaremos por edificar una sociedad mejor en la que florezca el socialismo nuestro, el socialismo posible en Cuba, hoy.

Son grandes los desafíos que enfrenta nuestro pueblo. Resistimos una guerra económica que dura ya más de medio siglo, el genocidio más prolongado de la historia. Encaramos otras formas de agresión incluyendo el terrorismo que ha quitado la vida o se la ha dañado gravemente a miles de compatriotas.

Hace seis años que Luis Posada Carriles, asesino confeso, disfruta de la protección oficial y desde territorio norteamericano anuncia crímenes futuros con total impunidad. Por tratar de impedir tales ataques fueron injustamente condenados y sufren cruel prisión los Cinco compatriotas a quienes ustedes han hecho un reconocimiento muy especial.

Apreciamos profundamente la solidaridad de ustedes. Los Cinco son prueba irrefutable de que Washington practica el terrorismo contra el pueblo cubano. No se trata de una historia del pasado. Lo sigue haciendo ahora mismo.

Por eso el lunes 25 de abril de este año, hace apenas cinco días, la Fiscalía demandó que sea rechazada sumariamente, sin audiencia ni consideración alguna, la petición de Habeas Corpus a favor de Gerardo Hernández Nordelo. Igual reacción tuvo más tarde respecto a la moción semejante de Antonio Guerrero y la de René González. Washington quiere que el tribunal de Miami rechace esas apelaciones sin discutirlas, sin revisar las pruebas, sin escuchar siquiera a un acusado sobre el que pesa una descomunal condena a dos cadenas perpetuas más quince años.

Quieren con el secreto perpetuar una brutal injusticia. Es el estilo de quienes han creado cárceles clandestinas y han legalizado la tortura.

Creen poder hacerlo impunemente porque cuentan con la complicidad de los llamados medios de información que ocultan la verdad e impiden al pueblo norteamericano conocerla. Es urgente convocar a la solidaridad de todas las personas honestas.

Hay que multiplicar por todas partes acciones como las que ustedes realizan y merecen nuestra gratitud.  Sólo así podremos derrotar a la dictadura mediática que es el principal instrumento del Imperio y culpable también por sus infamias. Que se alce en todo el mundo el reclamo al Presidente Obama para que libere a los Cinco, a todos y cada uno de ellos, sin excepción ni condición alguna.

Una sera, a cena con amici non insegnanti, il tema della discussione diventa questo: com'è che voi della "sinistra radicale" non capite che oggi l'egualitarismo degli stipendi, il rifiuto della meritocrazia, sono roba di destra. La sinistra è per le liberalizzazioni e la valutazione del merito. Non è vero che non si possono valutare gli insegnanti: ci sono parametri e indicatori di qualità a sfare, usati in tutto il mondo – basta non pretendere la perfezione. Non capite che oggi chi domina la scena è l'individuo con tutte le sue differenze, non le masse o gli apparati. Dobbiamo lavorare perché ci siano parti opportunità di partenza nella gara, ma la competizione è il dinamismo moderno di cui abbiamo bisogno, soprattutto per i giovani. Insomma basta difendere i carrozzoni dove chi non lavora o fa schifo guadagna quanto chi si impegna e vale. Un giovane precario mi aveva già detto durante un cambio di ora che la salvezza della scuola sarà quando i dirigenti potranno scegliersi gli insegnanti e le scuole con gli insegnanti migliori avranno più iscrizioni e denaro. Allora i prof bravi saranno ricercati, quelli pessimi i saranno soprannumerari, altro che garantiti dall'anzianità.
Adesso arriva la sperimentazione della Gelmini: un mese in più di stipendio ai bravi, scelti da due prof del collegio insieme al dirigente e a un genitore "osservatore". Come faranno a scegliere, chi sono i bravi?

Quella sera a cena sono rimasto un po' così così, ma il tema esiste ed è importante.
Peraltro sono convinto da tempo che una certa sinistra novecentesca, masse-partito-stato bisogni materiali e uguaglianza come uguagliamento, sia roba superata da dimenticare al più presto. E penso che possa essere una festa abbandonare questa cultura di militanti come massa senza nome, di partiti chiese o eserciti disciplinati tesi alla conquista dello Stato. Ma la Tatcher diceva, non esiste una cosa come la società, esistono gli individui, e questo mi sembra ancora il pensiero della destra. Io penso che esistono le persone nella loro singolarità, ma esistono come tali nelle loro relazioni interpersonali, politiche e culturali. All'interno di un tessuto bene o male comunitario – con tutti i rischi che il termine comporta: di comunità chiuse, di appartenenze assolute, di guide gerarchiche, di religioni sacralizzate, separate dall'umano. E tuttavia non si è liberi fuori da relazioni, vincoli etici e affettivi, un tessuto civile e politico. Si è soli, impauriti e incazzati, in guerra col mondo. Magari è dinamismo, ma da giungla.
Qui, detto per inciso, forse è anche la nuova frontiera della dimensione politica. Per Obama come per Vendola. Rappresentare un orizzonte ancora di liberazione collettiva, inventare un linguaggio che tocchi i corpi e la vita delle donne e degli uomini, ma misurarsi con un deserto di corpi intermedi, con una polis spoliticizzata, con il rischio di lasciare sulla scena solo il leader e poi tutte le anime al seguito del carisma. Senza alcuna possibilità di esistenza politica collettiva autonoma. Nel mezzo allora resterebbero i vecchi apparati di (ex) partito, adesso comitato elettorale. E la sfera della rappresentanza sarebbe nelle loro mani. Non una bella cosa.
A me sembra che nodi del genere riguardino, in un certo senso, anche la scuola. Come politicità delle relazioni orizzontali.

Se penso a me stesso, lo sento il bisogno di un riconoscimento da parte degli altri, di essere valorizzato dal loro sguardo. L'idea di essere ingranaggio di una megamacchina burocratica e protetta dalla corporazione mi fa semplicemente orrore. Penso che la" contraddizione rivoluzionaria" oggi sia il lavoro creativo di donne e uomini, il loro desiderio di esistere in modo singolare, libero, capace di inventare la propria vita nel mare aperto della società esplosa. Però il mio desiderio di valutazione del merito è molto relazionale, diciamo così: i miei studenti (soprattutto ex studenti, con i propri è troppo facile o troppo difficile), i colleghi, i genitori con cui parlo e che mi raccontano. La società fluida e informale, ma non informe. Il dirigente scolastico tutto sommato mi interessa se è persona che stimo, cioè solo dentro una relazione che gli dà autorità. L'amministrazione, il ministero, c'entrano molto poco. Chi sa cosa ritengono che sia un buon insegnante e una buona scuola.
È vero tuttavia che l'istituzione può monitorare il sistema sulla base di dati oggettivi, indicatori statistici. Ed è vero che sarebbe utile. Che destino hanno lontano da noi, nel tempo, i nostri studenti. Qual è il loro percorso nella società e nel lavoro. Quali conoscenze hanno acquisito e applicano. Certo, la scuola è solo un segmento iniziale che fa parte di una storia molto più lunga. E ci sarebbero un mare di altre variabili non scolastiche da considerare, che fanno formazione e incidono sui destini. La misurazione del percorso professionale dei giovani, poi, non direbbe gran che sulla qualità del loro essere cittadini – vai a misurarla la cittadinanza. E nella valutazione dei singoli apprendimenti quante variabili da tenere presenti: condizioni sociali di partenza, famiglie, esperienze personali ed elementi biografici, conoscenze non prestazionali, capacità e competenze da misurare non si sa come. Insomma le solite obiezioni. Però gli amici mi direbbero, non c'è la perfezione dunque non si fa nulla? Peraltro è vero che quei dati sarebbero utili informazioni su cui ragionare, e sono raccolti ed elaborati in tutta Europa – anche se non è chiarissimo quanto servano a produrre una formazione migliore. Ha scritto Bottani anni fa che negli Stati Uniti i test sulle conoscenze hanno sviluppato la capacità di superare i test, non le conoscenze.

Il guaio è che su queste costruzioni statistiche necessariamente imperfette e incerte, si vogliono costruire non solo interventi di sistema, ma gerarchie, carriere, differenziazioni stipendiali. Quelle sì solide e certe. Sarebbe un disastro perfetto. Perduta la coscienza del limite di quelle valutazioni la scuola distruggerebbe la sua dimensione di professionalità collettiva. E il valore dell'individuo finirebbe per essere declinato tutto nella forma dell'individualismo, della competizione di mercato – per la scuola uno strano misuratore: le famiglie dei clienti correrebbero tutte a scegliere la scuola migliore con gli insegnanti migliori od ognuna la propria scuola?
A me tutta questa roba continua a sembrare molto triste. Possibile che non si riesca a pensare una valorizzazione di sé, del proprio lavoro, che passi attraverso la collaborazione e non la competizione. Possibile che l'unico riconoscimento sociale che si immagina sia un qualche premio personale in busta paga – o fuori busta, come fa il privato che ama soprattutto la fedeltà, altro che il merito: domandatelo a Marchionne, quando non è in televisione. Quando penso a me stesso, sarò un po' scemo ma mi sembra non mi interessi gran che una gerarchia o un privilegio di stipendio. Anzi, quella roba lì (se non condivisa) mi allontanerebbe da quelle/i da cui vorrei essere riconosciuto. Magari è un po' infantile ma mi piacerebbe qualcosa come una comunità scientifica, di pari, modello quella che si manifesta nelle penne stilografiche che in fila i colleghi di Nash in A beautiful mind gli appoggiano sulla scrivania. E lui è uno sconfitto della competizione. Sognare per sognare, quello almeno è un bel sogno.
Se l'orizzonte della moderna sinistra risolve il tema della libertà in liberalizzazione e della qualità nel mercato – e non in liberazione, relazione, comunità aperta di differenze e partecipazione; se le scuole si valutano con l'Invalsi e la concorrenza, allora mi sembra che siamo messi maluccio. Già anni fa sul Sole24ore, ai tempi di Berlinguer, Giorgio Allulli scrisse chiaro che non conta se questa roba della competizione e delle carriere serve alle scuole, conta che arrivi agli studenti il messaggio giusto: che così funziona il mondo.
La speranza è che altre valorizzazioni crescano. Che la creatività del lavoro e della vita trovi per conto suo un'altra misura, relazionale e collaborativa, per esistere resistere. E per crescere.

I know it's been yonks since I last wrote here, but yeahs, decided that a little post won't hurt me… I seem to take forever on these things. But that's just me. And my fault. My bad guys. Small updates on things. I guess every week I will be excited enough to post up the ABDC videos every week for us Aussies to see what's happening with the dance world in the US

How's life been going? It's been alrights. My birthday came and went – nothing special there. Cheers to the fellas that organised a dinner for me. Props to you. Although there were some technicalities and so forth, just appreciate the thought guys!

So just throwing things together like I usually do – here goes nothing!

Title meaning:

Alrights – so the title meaning this week 'Peacock'… yeahs. That was pure randomness… and the Katy Perry song that is driving me insane at the current moment. I know it's been released for a while now, but yeahs – after watching I.aM.mE. perform with it on ABDC this past week for the Katy Perry challenge, the damn song has been hitting replay in my head. GOD DAMN IT. If you guys didn't catch the performance on ABDC, here's the link!

One of my favourites – if you haven't checked it out already, The Lazy Song by Bruno Mars was pretty awesome to watch! I don't know about you guys but this goes so well with Poreotics - HECK YEAH! To those who don't know Poreotics, they were the monkeys. LOL. Absolutely joking – these are the guys that won ABDC5! Awesome comedic dancers

One of the best covers I've heard – wait… probably the only cover I've heard of this song so far… Written in the Stars originally by newcomer, Tinie Tempah. So, this version is actually being covered by Jason Chen and Verseatile. Great rap, great voice, great job guys – definitely deserved all the praise you got here.

Just for pure lulz, I decided to add this random video in. It's the Canto version of Baby (Justin Bieber), Friday (Rebecca Black) and Just a Dream (Nelly). I reckon it was just for laughs and I totally enjoyed it. If you guys understand Canto, you would totally laugh with me And yes, they are the same lyrics, but English songs in any other languages usually sound funny anyways.

Currently in love with this amazing song… it's an original by Victor Kim, nigahiga and Kevjumba – all freestyled. Reckon it could be the next hit?  ;)

Wow, so many singing videos, not enough dance! It's time to mash it up with some ABDC videos!

ABDC 6 – Season of the Superstars:

Alright guys, prepare to be blown… okay, not really. It was interesting to see what kind of dance crews were going to enter this year. So far, I've seen a group of pole dancers (Jag9ed) who were unfortunately eliminated in their first week – no offence to you guys… but you DID take the song title for granted.

Season 6 started a little bit differently compared to the other seasons. There were 5 groups in the first 2 weeks, completely different, and they both had different challenges. The first week for the first 5 crews included a Lil Wayne challenge (yes, how horrible – ECLECTIC GENTLEMEN ELIMINATED). The second week was a Ke$ha challenge (that was bad too – JAG9ED ELIMINATED).

Each of the weeks, one group was eliminated and in the 3rd week, they were down to 8 crews. These crews were: Phunk Phenomenon, I.aM.mE. Crew, ReQuest Dance Crew, Street Kingdom, FootworKINGz, Instant Noodles, ICONic Boyz and 787 Crew. Each of the crews are very different from one another, ranging from the krumpers from Street Kingdom to the 10 year old boys in ICONic Boyz.

During their 3rd week, their challenge was issued to them by The Black Eyed Peas. Each was issued a song and a challenge to complete during their routine. The main stand out for me was Phunk Phenomenon. If you didn't catch their performance, the video is just below. The crew that was eliminated was FootworKINGz.

Alrights… catching y'all up to date now. This past week was the 4th week and there is just so much to say! Katy Perry challenge week! So my favourites this week were I.aM.mE. as I mentioned above with the Peacock :) Other surprises were 787 Crew, Street Kingdom and ReQuest - I thought they were pretty dope. Check out the vids below of the three crews I mentioned. The crew that was eliminated this week was ReQuest. The two performances that surprised me (Street Kingdom and ReQuest) were actually in the Bottom 2. Ah well.

One thing I liked a lot about 787, their determination for their crew member (who broke his leg earlier in the series) wanting to be incorporated within the dance. I thought that was dope. The rollercoaster idea was awesome. Forward flips in the diagonal at the end were sick!

Street Kingdom was sickkkk! Finally seeing some good choreography and krumping on the beats had the best effects! Totally enjoyed it, finally seeing some depth in SK and it was a great performance.

ReQuest was also another great performance. Very Cali girls-like. Completely suited the theme and SMASHED their challenge – great job girls. Too bad it wasn't enough to win over the judges. HOW DARE SHE KISS D-TRIX?! OF COURSE THEY WOULD'VE BEEN ELIMINATED. Lulz, sorry. Just a joke.

Wow, that was a long post just on ABDC. Don't worry, it'll be less next week

Prepare to be blown. Quest Crew in China! Isn't that dope? There are heaps of videos of them having a great time, having a good joke and just messing around with the audience. obama DISLIKES THE OIL COMPANIES, BUT he DOESN’T DISLIKE THEIR MONEY: WHY IS THE DOLLAR FAILING? « Donottreadonus's Blog

obama has become so transparent as to what he is doing and why, it has become crystal clear that his failing economic policies have been put in place to destroy this country's financial infrastructure en route to his goal of socialism for all. By not dissuading Bernanke from printing more money, our dollar continues to lose value here and abroad, so it is no wonder that oil and gas prices are soaring along with staples like bread, meat and produce. Despite emphatic denials we are in an inflationary period doomed to worsen if the Republican House does not put its foot down instead of gingerly testing the political waters. We know that the dishonest democrats will do nothing so the American people must press the Republicans to take firmer, unresisting, non-complacent stand against government spending and growth.

obama would lead you to believe that the "greedy, insidious" oil companies are the reason for the cost of gasoline. He wants you to forget that he has done nothing to expand out drilling, by allowing nonsensical rules from the EPA to prevent the issuance of new drilling licenses or the renewal of old ones. While the middle east unrest lends itself to a degree to the increase in gas costs, because of commodities traders on Wall Street, neither Wall Street nor Big Oil are the culprits. OPEC does play a role as well, but it is the obama energy policy or lack thereof which has created the situation in which we all, but obama, find ourselves as Americans.

Exxon Mobile earns 2 cents on every gallon of gasoline which does not seem much, but this is after paying at a 43 plus tax rate here in the U.S. in addition to other taxes paid to other countries in which it operates. obama does not want the price of oil to go down, since the revenues from the oil companies that Congress will foolishly spend will also go down. It is easier to place the blame whether it be on George Bush, or the Tea Party or Wall Street or Big oil THAN TO TELL THE TRUTH! obama has made Wall Street the culprit many times despite accepting huge amounts of money from it. Ask him and he will evade the question. obama uses the phrase from Wall Street to Main Street, but is disconnected from both.

Deceit is rampant in this administration in so many areas it is difficult to comprehend its enormity, and the many areas into which its tentacles have reached. Information is stifle, distorted, or contained……with what is provided suspect. The administration has become like a giant octopus, destroying the economy, failing in foreign policy, interfering in the daily lives of all Americans while presenting a picture of concern and benevolence……..A NANNY STATE.

The problem is that obama never knew how to be present before elected and has learned nothing since then. If it appears that re-election is not viable, he will move rapidly by executive order, or interference by the justice department, or by further convincing the Reids and Pelosis in Congress to do his bidding to produce more dangerous legislation. Republicans in Congress, must be keenly aware that the democrats will continue to operate in a partisan manner unless sudden realization that to do so will further destroy this country. Republicans must not compromise if compromise put us in a worse situation than we currently find ourselves. Spending cuts must be put into place now and any an all of democrats lies about medicare and social security must be refuted now, even if paid thugs attempt to interfere with the people's ability to be educated at Town Hall Meetings where there must be a police presence to prevent it. Okay, I may not be a kid (far from it actually) but I was still able to learn the guitar late in life and I did it without having to take formal lessons from some dumb boring instructor. If you want to know how I did it, this article reveals a very simple principles that I used and it works very well. First thing I decided was that I didn't want to waste my time taking lessons, not when I was already pushing 50. I wanted to enjoy the time I had in discovering the joys of my nylon six string that I picked up at one of those holiday sales. Heck, I've spent more money on evening meal out for two. And I didn't get to take it home with me afterwards either. Anyway, I realized that I wanted to have fun while studying the guitar. But how was I going to do that if I was boring myself to death studying scales?

Sokak sanatı ve “işsizlik hakkı” | Modernwish

Bilmem hatırlar mıyız? Bundan 5-6 yıl öncesine kadar Acun Ilıcalı, genç bir magazin gazetecisi olarak dünyayı dolaşır, bize de oradaki yaşamlardan örnekler sunardı.  O görüntülerden aklımda en çok kalanlar özellikle şehir merkezlerindeki sokak müzisyenleri ve performans sanatçıları olmuştur. Bu görüntüler neo-liberal politikaya sahip ülkelerde özgürlüğün de simgesi gibiydi. Eminim böyle düşünen tek kişi değilimdir.

O yıllardan bu yana, Türkiye'de de sokakta performans gerçekleştiren sanatçıların sayısı artmaya başladı. Gözümüze hoş gelen ve beton şehirleri yaşanabilir alanlara dönüştüren bu sanatçıları sempatiyle izliyoruz.  Ancak bu kişiler aslında kanun dışı işler çeviriyorlar!

Geçtiğimiz günlerde Malatya'da, sokakta müzik yapan turist gençlere, zabıtaların tavrını sosyal medyadan utanarak izledik. "Haydi kalabalık etmeyin. Haydi… Haydieyggh"

Hemen arkasından Ankara'da, parkta müzik yapan liseli gençlerin karakola götürüldüğünü ve ceza kesilmiş olduğunu öğrendik.

Bu görüntüler hukuki yönden, polislerin, amirlerinden kalabalıklara, her ne şekilde olursa olsun müdahale etme emri aldıkları gerçeğini gösteriyor. Çıtkırıldım devlet özgürlüklerden korkuyor.

Hani ileri demokrasi, daha fazla özgürlük deniyor ya… Palavra. Öyle ki herhangi bir insan için, herhangi bir sakınca içermesi imkansız olan bu etkinlikler, (bana öyle geliyor ki) kapitalizmin vahşiliğini anımsattığı için ortadan kaldırılmak isteniyor. Baskıya maruz kalıyor, denetlenmeye çalışılıyor, korku ve gözdağı veriliyor.

Kültürel yönden ise durum daha vahim. Bu olaylar yaşandığından beri, konuya ilişkin birşeyler yazma amacındaydım. Konunun derinliğini ise yalnızca küçük bir köşe yazısına nasıl sıkıştıracağımın hesabındayken, yeni çıkan bir kitap yardımıma yetişti.

Ivan Illıch'in, "İşsizlik Hakkı – The Right to Useful Unemployment And Its Professional Enemies" isimli eseri, Deniz Keskin çevirisiyle,  Yeni insan Yayınevi'nden Türkçe'ye kazandırıldı. Henüz okumadım ama yeşil düşüncenin de kendisinden beslendiği, radikal toplum bilimci Ivan Illich'in yine harikalar yaratmış olabileceğini kestirmek güç değil. Eminim bu kitap,  tv ekranının ardında kalan ve banttan yayınlanan sanat kliplerine nazaran, verdikleri emeği hemen oracıkta, önümüzde gördüğümüz sokak sanatçılığının nasıl olur da yasak olabildiğinin, hem kültürel, hem ekonomi-politik yönden yanıtlarını veriyor ve hem de çok daha fazlasını anlatıyordur. Kitabın tanıtımı bile bu konuda bazı ipuçları veriyor;

Günümüzün toplumunda bir patron tarafından emredilmiş olmadığı sürece hiçbir çaba üretken sayılmıyor ve ekonomistler de bir şirketin, gönüllü kuruluşun ya da çalışma kampının kontrolü altında olmayan insanların nasıl olup da gayet işe yarar olabildiklerini açıklamakta güçlük çekiyorlar. Bir iş yalnızca standartlara uygun şekilde belgelenmiş olan bir ihtiyacı karşıladığına hükmedecek bir profesyonel kurum tarafından planlandığı, takip edildiği ve kontrol altında tutulduğu sürece üretken, saygın ve yurttaşlara layık bir iş olabiliyor.

Toplumun altyapısı öylesine bir şekilde düzenlenmiş ki üretim araçlarına erişmenin tek yolu ücretli işler ve devlet devreye girdikçe kullanım değeri üretiminin üzerindeki bu meta üretim tekeli daha da baskıcı oluyor.

Bir çocuğa yalnızca diplomanız varsa bir şey öğretebilirsiniz, kırılmış bir kemiği yerine ancak bir klinikte oturtabilirsiniz. Ev işleri, el becerileri, geçimlik tarım, radikal teknoloji, birbirinden öğrenme ve benzeri faaliyetler yalnızca aylaklar, üretken olmayanlar, çok yoksullar ve çok zenginler için mümkün hale gelmiş durumda.

Okuyup, bize dayatılan gerçeklikleri kritik etmek, paylaşmak, kendimizden utanmak, toplumumuzdan utanmak, yeniden üretip, dönüştürmek üzere…

 KA BABAO KAMA MINANGKABAU KO

Atang mangapik tas jo map tigo warna; kuniang, merah jo itam. Tagak di tapi jalan Tunggang mananti bus kota dari kampus Limau Manih. Sasudah dapek tampek duduak, kabatulan di sabalahnyo lah duduak pulo si Jila. Sakileh tampak dek Jila map tu bamerek tulisan "Minangkabau".

"Ka babao kama Minangkabau jo bus kota goyoh sarupo ko kawan?" tanyo Jila.

"Minangkabau?" tanyo Atang takajuik. Kudian inyo sadar bahaso mapnyo bamerek kato Minangkabau tu. Atang galak sengeang. "O, minangkabau awak ko?" tambah Atang sambia galak bagumam ma ampok-ampok mapnyo tu. "Kini Jila, sadonyo urang sadang menenteang Minangkabau kama-kama. Ado nan manginginkan Minangkabau itu dijadi propinsi. Ado yang menginginkan Minangkabau ini dijadian daerah istimewa saroman  Jogja atau Aceh Nangru Darusalam."

"Ado pulo nan manjadian Minangkabau tu namo klub bola kaki, kan? Acok kalah pado manang. Ado pulo nan manjadian Minangkabau ko namo lapangan kapatabang. Jaan kan ka dapek labo, malah acok pulo tadanga rugi. Ado nagari banamo Minangkabau jalan kasinan sampiknyo bukan main, saroman oto nan ka pai ka sinan tu sagadang kotak api-api. Dulu ado pulo intelektual Minangkabau, sampai kini haniang. Tapi baa mangko indak indak ado urang nan namuah manyabuik PSK Minangkabau atau TKI Minangkabau," kato Jila roman urang manyumpah-nyumpah.

"Hari pagi jo lai, Jila lah lah main patang se," solo Atang.

"Dek sari Minangkabau ko dibao jo padati, parang paderi urang. Sudah tu jo oto tangsi, jadi gundik balando niniak kito. Kini dibao jo bendi. Nak pai kama Minangkabau?" hariak Jila mancaliak paja-paja bagonceang bapaluak-paluak malintehi bus kota tu. "Sudah tu ado nan mangecek an Minangkabau ko dulunyo bukan kerajaan, cuma nagari-nagari se basatu samo-samo inyo. Nan kalamak dek kakuran se Minangkabau komah," garutu Jila.

"Kalau Minangkabau koi tadiri dari persatuan nagari-nagari, lalu kato Minangkabau tu dari ma datangnyo? Apo mungkin urang di nagari-nagari itu dulunya setuju se manamokan nagarinyo Minangkabau? Apalai urang Minang, Jila! Ma pulo namuah inyo manamokan nagarinyo baitu sajo manjadi Minangkabau?" kat Atang.

"Agak hati den, Balando si penjajah tulah nan mamaso datuk-datuk Minangkabau ko supayo manamoan nagarinyo Minangkabau, yo ndak?" tanyo Jila.

"E,e,e namo Minangkabau tu alah ado sajak dunia takambang. Begitu kan Jila?" solo Atang.

"Kalau namo tu lah ado sajak dunia takambang, baa mangko si Atang sato-sato pulo manjojoan Minangkabau kaniak ka mari jo bendi den ko, saroman manjojoan talua asin atau sala lauak?" tanyo Jila.

"Soal Minangkabau kini angek pulo baliak. Dek sari ka diadoan kongres tapi ditulak. Daripado indak, dijadikan sajo seminar.  Sesudah seminar, haniang! Kini ado pula ulasan-ulasan di facebook tentang Perjalanan Islam Dalam Penyempurnaan Adat Minangkabau," kato Atang.

"Tapi parewa-parewa Minangko alun juo baranti main koa lai, baa tu?" tanyo Jila.

"E, Jila. Jila. Soal Minangkabau jaan dihubuang-hubungan jo main main koa, baampok, judi, prostitusi, korupsi, kolusi, jaan kawan! Minangkabau tu iyo Minangkabau," kato Atang tegas.

"Artinyo bana, jaan dikaik-kaik an pulo adat Minangkabau tu jo syara, jo kitabullah, baitu?" tanyo Jila. "Minangkabau roman tu nan ka waang jojoan kini lai Tang?" garutu Jila. ***

Gabriel… Pokúšam sa dostať kontakt. Mám ho? Gabriel?

Necítim spojenie. Rozprávali sme o tom, že sa tešíš, že chcem s tebou znova písať. Je to moja chyba; stále som nepísala a dnes som ťa na záhrade už musela požiadať, aby si ma vyvážil, tak nevraživo som sa cítila. A odrazu prileteli vrabce a začali mi štebotať nad hlavou… Ďakujem ti, Veliký. Pomohlo.

A pýtala som sa na …. ale to si mi zamietol. Vraj sa nemám do toho montovať.

Nič. Gabriel, mám napojenie?

Samozrejme, že máš. Mne sa len páči, ako rozprávaš. Som rád, keď so mnou hovoríš. Bola si dlho ticho.

To nie! Hovorím s tebou večne, ja už bez toho ani nedokážem existovať, len sme nepísali…

Ale nemala si potrebu ani kyvadlovať.

Viem… Ale mne už akosi došli otázky. Nejako sa nepotrebujem pýtať. Nič ma veľmi nezaujíma. Tíško zahnívam.

To asi nie. Si napojená trvalo a povedal som ti, že som tvoje myšlienky podchytil a riadim ti ich. Automaticky vieš, že je postarané. Že sa netreba pýtať a že sa netreba brániť.

Ale prečo ma potom dnes chytila tá nevraživosť?

Stromy… a pesnička.

Stromy – a pesnička. Tú pesničku som si uvedomovala. A tie stromy asi tiež… Už pred rokom som Otca prosila, nech nedovolí, aby ich vyničili. Dovolil.

A dnes už vieš, že aj tak to je jedno. Proste vezmeš situáciu a urobíš si ju takou, aby si sa v nej cítila dobre. Predtým si tú schopnosť nemala. Potrebovala si mať veci podľa svojho. Teraz už nepotrebuješ nič okrem mňa. Okrem nás všetkých.

Ale to je dobre haluzné vyjadrenie, nie? Nepotrebujem už nič okrem Všetkého.

Je to tak. A nás máš vždy a všade. Jediný, kto ti nás môže vziať, si ty sama. Preto už ani nemáš strach. Preto ťa už ani nič veľmi nezaujíma. Máš nás, vieš to a to ti stačí.

No, neviem… A keď dostanem najbližší katalóg s handričkami, tak chcem ešte aj to aj hento…

Chcieť chceš. A neobjednáš.

Objednám. Už sa chystám.

Niekoľko mesiacov.

No… ale objednám!

Neobjednáš. Nemala by si to ako vynosiť. Bolo by ti ľúto.

Gabriel, o čom sa môžeme baviť? Ja neviem, čo ti je dôležité.

Dôležité je, aby sme spolu hovorili. Ten kontakt ťa upokojuje a pomáha ti. Keď sa uzavrieš, nemáš sa ako vyvažovať a negativita hmoty ťa dobehne.

Prečo?

Pretože si sa s ňou nenaučila narábať. Ešte stále si v režime, že sa jej potrebuješ vyhýbať.

A to si prichodím bohvieako rozvinutá…

Si rozvinutá. Lenže rozvinutý tiež nie je bod, ale kontínuum. A v tom kontínuu sa dokonca dá ešte kĺzať zo strany na stranu.

To robím?

Nie. Snažíš sa stále ísť dopredu, ale tvoje sily na to nestačia, najmä ak nedostatočne cvičíš. Viem, že si fyzicky vyčerpaná, preto do teba veľmi neštucháme, ale Ihderael je už netrpezlivý. Jeho úlohou je dostať ťa na vyšší stupienok. Nemôžem to urobiť ja – všetci vieme, že kvôli mne urobíš hocičo. Ale na vyšší stupienok sa potrebuješ dostať z tvojho vnútra, nie kvôli tomu, aby si urobila radosť mne… A Ihderael má za úlohu pomôcť ti, podporiť ťa. Keď ste začali, bol rozradostený, ako to ide hladko. A potom si sa zastavila a vyčerpala si svoju energiu.

Prečo?

Priveľa vecí súčasne… Bojuješ na mnohých frontoch. Si tak rýchlejšia, ale viac trieštiš svoje sily. A tak síce postupuješ paralelne, ale pomalšie.

No, mne sa už zdá dokonca, že síce pomaly, ale vôbec nie paralelne…

Nefrfli. Keby to bolo zlé, nevládzeš prísť za mnou. Si u mňa každú noc. A len čo zaspíš, snívaš ešte Remiela. Tak čo chceš? Pomaly, ale veľa vecí súčasne.

Mám pocit, akoby som stagnovala.

Stagnuješ. Už sa niet kam dostať.

To tvrdíš, že som vzostúpená?

A nie si?

Nooo… ja neviem… takto sa cíti vzostúpenie?

Vzostúpenie je, keď preberieš definitívnu a dokonalú zodpovednosť za svoj vlastný život a súčasne za jeho dopady do života iných ľudí. Čo si ty myslela, keď si hovorila o vzostúpení?

Noooo… čo ja viem, že sa zmením na priesvitný obláčik energie a budem vedieť chodiť cez múr. Takže null sranda.

Ako vieš? Už máš zodpovednosť. Teraz začni s tou zodpovednosťou niečo robiť.

Robiť? Ako čo?

Chceš mať mimoriadne schopnosti? Tak nečakaj, až sa dostavia, ale začni trénovať.

Ale ako?

Tým, že spravíš prvý krok, a potom ďalší a ďalší… a nenecháš sa odradiť, keď to nepôjde… Celý život si žila v tom, že niektoré veci buď neexistujú alebo nie sú možné. Tri roky trvalo, než si uverila, že prídem. Čo myslíš, ako dlho potrvá, než uveríš, že prejdeš cez stenu?

Sto rokov! Alebo jednu skúsenosť.

A od čoho je slovo skúsenosť? Od skúšať… Takže prestaň sa báť, že sa niečo zas ukáže ako nepravdivé. Nezabudni – pravda je to, čo dokážeš pravdou urobiť. A neurobíš nič, ak nezačneš robiť, pretože urobiť je dokonavý tvar od robiť.

A my máme gramatický deň.

Vždy lepšie než dramatický… Nebuď taká vyplašená! Jednoducho začni a budeš prekvapená, čo všetko sa dá, keď na seba nebudeš klásť privysoké očakávania.

Vidíš… Vieš, že sa mi nechce? Fakt! Ja už asi nechcem nič vedieť, nič robiť a to chodenie cez stenu by sa mi šiklo, keď stratím kľúč, ale zas až také úžasné to nie je… Gabriel, ja už fakt nechcem nič robiť. Ja chcem byť s vami. A ty ma nechceš vziať k vám. Prečo?

Vravel som ti, že máš svoje poslanie. Nezlosti sa. Je lepšie mať poslanie a žiadne očakávania, ako mať spústu očakávaní a žiadnu orientáciu, žiadny zmysel života.

Môj zmysel života je zomrieť a ísť k vám. A to nie som depresívna, to si píš!

Depresívna možno nie, ale niečo sa za tým skrýva. Kým žiješ, nemala by si chcieť zomrieť. Takže poďme na to. Čo môže byť za tým?

Čo ja viem? Únava?

Si unavená. Cítim to. A ešte musíš vydržať, veci sa ešte nevyriešia.

Je to len tá únava?

Mňa sa pýtaš?

A koho?! To mám teraz utekať za Gaiou a zisťovať, ako sa cítim?!

Niečo si nechceš priznať.

Ale čo?

Gabriel, ja fakt neviem.

Prečo používaš stále slovo „fakt"?

Počkaj… to je podryp alebo vážna otázka?

Vážna otázka.

Naznačuješ, že to má niečo s mojím materializmom?

Spomínaš na obrázok veveričky s každou nohou na inej latke plota? V tom je hlavný problém. Kráčaš medzi dvoma svetmi. V jednom ťa drží telo, v druhom ťa drží duša. A nemôžeš sa rozhodnúť pre jeden z nich, pretože telo ťa vždy bude držať v tom jednom a duša v tom druhom. Prepínaš sa medzi nimi, ale už ťa to nebaví, To je tá tvoja únava. Nemôžeš z toho von. A ešte chvíľu nebudeš môcť. Svojej duše sa už nevzdáš a svoje telo ešte odložiť nemôžeš.

Prečo nie?

Lebo ho ešte potrebuješ. Aby si mohla konať v svete hmoty, musíš byť sama hmota.

A vy? Vy v svete hmoty konať nemôžete?

Nemôžeme konať. Môžeme zapríčiňovať.

A keď zapríčiníte, tak konáme my?

Presne.

Už som sa akceptovala, čo?

To to trvalo…

Dobre, ale nemáš pocit, že je to teraz už napevno?

No dobre, ale nemáš pocit, že presne o tom to je? Celý ten tvoj pomalý postup? Že robíme veci teraz nie už hlavou, ale srdcom? Presvedčením? Vierou?

Pri slove „viera" dostávam koprivku.

Prečo? Slovo „viera" nemá obsah. Každý si ho naplní svojím vlastným obsahom. Prečo by ťa malo rozčuľovať slovo?

No, slovo ma ani nerozčuľuje. Rozčuľuje ma, ako sa ľudia upínajú na vieru a už nevidia nič iné.

Ty sa neupínaš na vieru?

Najradšej by som ti povedala „ja viem", ale už tuším, že sa ma spýtaš, ako viem…

Nespýtam. Nebolo treba.

Upínam sa na vieru?

Iste… Potrebuješ niečomu veriť. Otázka len je, čo urobíš, keď si zvolíš, čomu uveríš – čomu pripíšeš vyššiu vierohodnosť. Niekto prestáva vnímať všetko ostatné. Iný skúma všetko ostatné a zúfalo sa bojí, že by mohol nájsť nesúlad. No a niekto skúma a vie, že keď sa nesúlad nájde, tak len preto, že ešte stále niečo nepochopil…

Ma udržiavaš v dobrom rozmare, čo? V tej prvej skupine som asi nikdy nebola.

Bola. Ako materialista si bola presne tam. Nemala si najmenšiu ochotu skúmať, či na tých „bláboloch" nie je aj niečo pravdy… Proste si to poprela a pre teba to neexistovalo. A teraz sa čuduješ, že ti všetko tak strašne dlho trvá. Musíš celkom prekopať svoje doterajšie myslenie.

Ale veď to robím!

Po častiach. Inak to nejde. Ale vždy sa niekde vyskytne nejaký zvyšok minulého prístupu a ten ti dočasne znepríjemní život.

To tak bude naveky?

Máš pocit, že je to naveky? Kedysi si vybuchovala pri každej nezrovnalosti. Dnes hľadáš nové zorné uhly.

Takže predsa nejaký pokrok… Hepi.

Poriadne hepi. Za seba i za nás. Ešte že si taká svojhlavá a dokážeš sa dokopať skutočne k hocičomu. Nikdy som nemyslel, že sa dokáže niekto dokopať k viere. Najmä keď mu je hocijaká forma viery taká protivná ako tebe. A zvládla si to.

No… asi hej… ako som to urobila?

Mňa sa nepýtaj… Nevieme… U teba sme často narazili na správanie, s ktorým sme sa ešte nestretli. Na jednej strane Neandertálec, ale súčasne Einstein. Neandertálsky Einstein. Extrémne primitívna bytosť s extrémne vycizelovaným myslením.

To neznie veľmi ospevne, Veliký… To sa mi nepáči.

Tak prečo sa sústreďuješ na „primitívna bytosť" a nie na „"vycizelované myslenie"?

Asi preto, že za to, aká bytosť som, zodpovedám ja sama, kým to myslenie sa „tak nejak" prihodilo…

Ale to je nezmysel! Nezodpovedáš ani za jedno, ani za druhé. Si svetielko. Duša. Vložená do istých podmienok. Učiaca sa. Nezodpovedáš za to, že sa tvoja myseľ prebudila už v čase, kedy si ešte nebola dostatočne rozvinutá… Predstav si, že by bol býval taký rozpor medzi bytosťou a jej srdcom. Čo by srdce urobilo? Bolo by sa trápilo v tom primitívnom svete a bolo by samé seba zlikvidovalo tým trápením! Takto je to lepšie. Myseľ ti pomohla dostať do súladu bytosť, srdce i vôľu. Ešte niekedy to zaškrípe, ale to už je len „niekedy", nie „stále".

Čo je na mne ešte primitívne?

Tvoja oddelenosť. Tá hranica sa rozpúšťa veľmi pomaly. Zasa to vôľou urýchľuješ, ale nepatríš k tým najtrpezlivejším a tak si uvedomuješ, že je to ešte stále pomaly…

No a viem to nejako zrýchliť?

Nie za cenu nepoškodenia intelektu. Vieš to zrýchliť tak, že sa zblázniš. Chceš sa zblázniť?

Nie.

Tak nič neurýchľuj. Máme všetok čas sveta. Nie si obmedzená ničím – ani narodením, ani smrťou, ba dokonca ani svojou vlastnou vôľou. Vykročila si na cestu, z ktorej niet návratu. Aj keď sa vzpriečiš a prestaneš chcieť, už nespadneš do starého stavu. Už ťa to bude nútiť pokračovať.

Prečo?

Zahliadla si dokonalosť.

A nemala krídla.

Dokonalosť nepotrebuje krídla. Krídla nie sú atribút dokonalosti, dievča. Krídla sú len príznak. Ale dokonalosť sama je vo všetkom. S krídlami alebo bez nich. My sme dokonalí a vy ste dokonalí – každý sme dokonalý na inej úrovni.

A ty? Ty vnímaš dokonalosť?

Vnímame Otca.

A ja? Tiež ho budem niekedy vnímať bez ohľadu na jeho atribúty?

Niekedy ho tak vnímaš. Ešte si to neuvedomuješ, ale tú schopnosť už máš.

Veliký, na osi od 1 do 10, kde 10 je úplné neskreslenie, kde sa teraz pohybujeme? Neviem; nepočujem ťa. Skúšala som to toningom, ale nepodarilo sa. Teraz so dostala vnem 70%… Je to tak?

Nie. Je to správne všetko. Nezabudni – rôzne uhly pohľadu. Ale nič nie je skreslené. Zapísala si časť. Tú časť, ku ktorej máš momentálne prístup. Až sa zmení tvoja schopnosť vnímania, budeš vidieť niektoré veci inak. Rozumieš mi?

Myslím, že rozumiem.
