religious prayers « everything in transit

listened to this during lunch — an excerpt:

I got a church planter buddy of mine — he prays a lot. You know what his favorite prayer, is, he told me?

Lord, help.

He says that all the time… Lord, help!.. haha, that's a good prayer. That's a really good prayer. If I heard that from one of my kids, I would show up and help. 'Dad, help!'…. got it. I don't need a really long prayer. I don't need a long request…. just let me know.

what simple truth — if we (i) believe that i'm a beloved child, daughter, and i call out to my heavenly Father, Dad for help… huh.

the only words I had yesterday as I left for USC — GOD PLEASE HAVE MERCY ON ME! i use caps because there was quite a bit of pleading.

i'm glad He is a good dad.
